RMG awarded exclusive Bahrain Turf Club two-year distribution contract

Bahrain Turf Club has awarded Racecourse Media Group (RMG) an exclusive two-year contract to distribute live pictures and data from 29 Bahrain fixtures, including tomorrow’s showpiece US$1m Bahrain International Trophy.

Eight horses are set to represent Britain, Ireland, France, UAE and Bahrain in the Kingdom’s most valuable race, won last year – for the second time – by Spirit Dancer, co-owned by Sir Alex Ferguson. The race is due off under the floodlights of the Rashid Equestrian & Horseracing Club at 7.40pm local time (4.40pm GMT).

RMG will team up with its long-time international partner, Arena Racing Company (ARC), to distribute Bahrain content exclusively via RMG and ARC’s established international partnership, GBI Racing, currently broadcast in around 10,000 shops globally and via more than 100 digital customers. Within the UK and Ireland, RMG and ARC will offer the best combination of digital streaming and retail.

Ed Veale, Director of Racing & International Business at Bahrain Turf Club, said: “We are delighted to extend our long-standing relationship with RMG, and look forward to working with them, and their partners, ARC, to enhance exposure and engagement with racing fans.”

Nick Mills, CEO of Racecourse Media Group, said: “We’re thrilled to expand our partnership further by adding this distribution arrangement to our existing production, broadcast and advertising agreements. We look forward to working with our international partners, ARC, on increasing audiences and revenues for Bahrain Turf Club.”

Brendan Parnell, Managing Director, Media & International, of Arena Racing Company, said: “At ARC we are thankful to RMG for the inclusion on this partnership as part of our GBI venture, and we are very excited to be a part of Bahrain Turf Club’s distribution journey for the next two seasons.”

Bahrain is one of the most exciting and emerging racing jurisdictions in the sport. The season runs from October 31 to April 17, and also includes the US$1m Bahrain Turf Series (December 19 – March 5), which regularly attracts some of the best-known participants in the sport.
